With so much great music having been recorded over the years, some fine bands have gone largely unnoticed while others have reached legendary status. Through the M-Files, we are attempting to draw attention to the common thread that runs between these great bands, presenting an accurate picture of them and their history.

Legendary Irish hard rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969 and led throughout their recording career by the late multi-talented bassist, songwriter and singer Phil Lynott.

  Lynyrd Skynyrd
One of the most critically-acclaimed Southern Rock groups of the 1970's. The band reached prominence under the leadership of vocalist and primary songwriter Ronnie Van Zant until he died, along with several other members of the band, in a plane crash in 1977.

Legendary British hard rock band formed out of the ashes of the group The Empty Vessels, later Tanglewood in Devon, 1969.

  Golden Earring
This legendary Dutch rock/pop group was founded in 1961 and has had international chart success plus over 40 hits and 30 gold and platinum albums in their home country of the Netherlands.

  Bryan Lee & the Jump Street Five
Inspired by the sounds of Elmore James, Albert King and Albert Collins, this brilliant artist lost his eyesight by the age of eight, but was playing rhythm guitar by his late-teens. Today he has immersed himself in the blues and keeps the genre alive and well through touring and recording.
